With the COVID crisis closing schools, Columbia College went remote. This meant both Simon and I needed to have a work space because my part-time evening shift turned into a full-time day shift. We couldn’t share the desk we already had. Hello Ikea. We ordered a desk, a chair, a book case, and a desk organizer last week and it arrived (earlier than scheduled) today. Simon, Ian, and I spent the better part of the afternoon building and rearranging the basement which is the home of my new office. Here are some pictures. (I know, I need some art behind me.)

  1. I think it’s the most “pro” workstation we’ve ever had. There’s a lesson to be had when you look closely and you see that the monitor on your desk is in fact the same one as in this ii News story from 2009: https://www.biickert.ca/?p=3204

When you buy a monitor, make sure it’s a good one, because they last a long time.

It’s an Ikea Bekant sitting-standing desk, with up/down buttons and everything. Now I miss my sit/stand desk from work. https://www.biickert.ca/?p=10397
