Happy 5th Birthday Miranda!

Today our little girl turned 5. It’s so hard to believe that five years have gone by since she first came into this world.

The day started with apple pancakes with sausage for breakfast then round one of presents from us, Baba and Grandpa, and Nana and Grandpa. Afterwards we tidied up and made preparations for the party.

We had a mini party for her today: Auntie, Uncle, Zachary, Brianna, Jeff, and Katya came over. We were anticipating 10 more guests but for this reason and that they weren’t able attend. This means a lot of left overs. We had meatballs and rice, mini pizzas, chips, mini quiche, oriental finger foods, egg salad sandwiches, veggie sticks, and fruit. Of course there was the cake hand made and decorated by Daddy.
The kids had fun playing and taking turns on Miranda’s new bike. She received a lot of great clothes and art projects/supplies. Thank you to everyone for the gifts and cards.

Here are some pictures from today.

Happy Birthday to Stephanie. 34 today (but you didn’t hear it from us). 😁

Eleven years later and this red bike is going strong. After Ian was finished with it, we gave it to Michelle from my work and her two kids both learned to ride on it and then she passed it along to another family and their boy Sam has learned to ride with it as well. That’s five kids who have learned to ride on this bike: Miranda, Ian, Ryan, Emily and Sam.

I can’t help but feel good about that. I joked with Michelle that we should paint little stick figures on the bike like WWII fighter planes painted enemy flags on the nose to mark victories. I think having five kids learn to ride makes the little red Norco an ace!
