When the news broke that Kenney will start lifting COVID restrictions next week, I jokingly suggested that we go out and use the Earl’s gift card I got in December from the Social Committee at Columbia College. Simon agreed. I made a reservation at the Dalhousie location for this evening at 5.30.
When we got there, the place was jumping and many were waiting to get a seat (good thing I made a reservation). The hostess said that it was surprisingly busy. I wondered if others were what we were. The meal was very tasty. We started with Buffalo Cauliflower as an appetizer. Simon had a medium sized glass (18oz) of Pale Rhino ale and I had a sangria made with red wine, St. Remy brandy, cranberries, and winter spices. It was fantastic! Simon ordered the Kung Pao Chicken and I had the 6 oz steak (medium rare) with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. Mmm! We split a piece of Confetti Cake with coffee for dessert.
I’m glad we did this. It has been a long time since we’ve done anything like this. Simon commented that we have to be careful that we don’t turn into hermits because of COVID. 🤣
Here are some pics. (We really need to practice taking selfies.)
Looks like a good time and good food, glad you could finally get out.
That cake looked great!!!!!
