I have a jumpsuit!

Today in class, it was not a typical day. Normally my class would start off with social studies and ELA, followed by nutrition break, then CTF, Math/Sci, Lunch, Math/Sci, and finishing off with Physical Education. However, today was different. For the entire morning, my class, as well as every grade 9 class in my school, combined with various schools around Alberta, joined a meeting with an Alberta career summit meeting. Around half of the meeting was spent talking about 4 different career paths that are available. These 4 paths are

  • Forestry
  • Technology
  • Oil and gas and
  • Animals conservation

That lasted around an hour and a half (8:45AM – 10:15AM)

After that, the organizers a part of the organization assigned us to a group activity: To turn a jumpsuit into a work of art relating to the 4 career paths they talked about. I was put into a group of 5 people. We first filled out a sheet about what path our group decided on, then we grabbed markers, a jumpsuit, and proceeded to drawing art relating to Forestry (Our pick) on the jumpsuit. At about 11:30AM, we finished and I was selected to wear the suit. I got my picture taken, and then went back to my desk. We finished the meeting, and went back to normal “activities” such as math/sci worksheets. At around lunch (12:30PM) my social/ELA teacher got me, and all the students in grade 9 who wore the jumpsuit, into the foyer on the 2nd floor of my school, and took a photo of us all together. I was there, roughly 15 people as well (including my friend Joey). I got to keep the suit. So I continued to wear it until the end of school (3:10PM) and walked back home through a blizzard. 😖 By the the time I got home, I showed the suit off to Mum and Dad.

Here is the photo.
