Stephanie, Tristan, Zachary and Brianna arrived yesterday night. They drove all the way from Langford in one day. They had a good day of it with the weather behaving, and only getting slowed down once: in the construction on the highway east of Golden.
They got here around 9:30, so they made great time catching the 6:00 am ferry. Zach and Bri bedded down in the bonus room and Steph and Tristan settled into the basement.
Today, Tammy and Miranda both had to work. It’s their last day of work for the week. So our guests and Ian and I went to Calaway Park for the day. Tristan was super excited to ride on the roller coaster and we had a blast on the log ride.
The lines for the log ride and roller coaster were long, and so we only went on them once. We had fun on a bunch of different rides and had lunch at the Lockside Grill. It wasn’t bad, but it was 💵💵💵. 😄
We headed home, hot, tired but happy. Tonight’s dinner was homemade chilli by Tammy and afterwards we played That’s What She Said. Tristan and Miranda tied for the win.
Tonight, the kids are sleeping in the tent that they put up themselves. If it falls over in the night, they only have themselves to blame.
