No Club Rides Until June

This news is a couple of days old. At first I didn’t want to bury the network upgrade story and then there were awesome homemade hats and then there was a bunny bum cake. But on Saturday, the Alberta Bicycle Association put out a statement.

Alberta Bicycle is extending the expectation that all cycling events in Alberta be postponed or cancelled until June 14th. We will continue to work with Cycling Canada to monitor and assess the situation and will be making a decision regarding events after June 15th later in April. Our main concern continues to be the health and safety of the cycling community.

All ABA clubs, athletes and members may not participate in any gatherings or meetings for the immediate future. This includes all outdoor group rides. Alberta Bicycle is currently exploring options with our insurance providers regarding non-group activities coverage.

The Bow Cyclist Club is an ABA club, so it’s riding solo mio or in virtual groups in Zwift for the next couple of months.
