Shopping in the Time of COVID

That’s a reference. 🙂

I have to admit, I have barely poked my nose out of our house since I started working from home three weeks ago. I went to the office to get some things, and I went to Bow Cycle for some stuff, but other than that I’ve been the poster boy of social distancing. Tammy has been the shopper. Initially, she took the kids with her, but now her trips are solo. That includes this morning’s trip to Superstore.

She texted me: “Long lines”.

The woman near the $4.97 sign is the end of the line to the cashiers. The line goes all the way to the bakery and then across the front of the store. Long line, indeed.

  1. Why the long line? Only one cashier working?
We went grocery shopping on Monday no one in front or behind us.
    No long lines here.

  2. Actually the end of the line was 2 carts behind me!
It’s a lot worse than it was before. I think it’s because the stores now have spacers taped on the floors to keep patrons apart. Luckily, the line moved quickly. They even opened up the self-checkouts to all. I felt a little self-conscious with my overflowing buggy pulling up into one of those stalls (each till has been put into a cubicle formation). There’s only self-packing at stores now and some require line-ups outside to limit the numbers inside. Again, luckily, I didn’t have to go through that like I did at Memory Express. Aside from getting milk and cat litter, I’m never going out again! 🤥

  3. Never going out again sounds like a good plan!
You should see how fast I shop 🏃‍♀️now!

  4. Some stores are “nuts” Cosco has a double line halve way around the store just waiting to get in.
