Stroopwafels, Japanese Pancakes and Raking Leaves

I don’t know about you, but two of those sound fun.

Tammy bought a new waffle iron meant for making waffle-cone-style thin waffles. Today, she tried it out for the first time and made stroopwafels.

Baking underway

They are sweet and crumbly. A bit messy to eat, but I’m not complaining. Now, she’s making Japanese custard-filled pancakes.

I’ll report back on those later.

In the meantime, Ian and I raked up the leaves in the back yard. Went pretty well; they were nice and dry. The only problem was we bagged them in plastic bags but only afterwards I found the paper bags for yard waste in the garage. 🤦‍♂️ So then Ian and I transferred the leaves into the compostable bags.

Updated

The Japanese custard pancakes were delicious. Hard to put into words. Sweet, but not overly. Pancake-like, but not quite.
