Earlier this week, we got an email from Planit Builders that our site coordinator, Ed, was no longer with the company and that we would have a new one, Patrick. That was rather unexpected, and we haven’t got any more information than that. It’s too bad, because we liked Ed and he worked through some of the hiccups with us. I haven’t met Patrick yet, but Tammy has, briefly. I don’t expect it will cause too much disruption, and we’re on the home stretch now with the basement anyways.
Yesterday and today the painters have been working. Tammy told me that the fellow came this morning to install the french doors, so that’s one of the last major tasks. The electrical has been finished, so the pot lights work now, and the other light fixtures are installed, too. Paint, flooring and installing the baseboards are the big remaining things. It should all be finished by the end of next week.
Why don’t you phone him and ask him? ‘Hope the new fellow works out.
I had an opportunity to speak with Patrick today. Nice enough fellow, and is sure that we’ll be finished next Friday. He did mention that Ed had been laid off. It didn’t sound permanent, but unfortunate just the same.
