2015 Riding Summary

Given that Miranda’s sleepover party is tonight, I think I have cycled my last for 2015. I’ve put my bike in the garage to get it out of the way of a posse of giggling girls. So, how did 2015 go?

As you can see, I blasted past my goal of 4,000 km for the year. I am proud of that. How did I managed to add 1,800 more km over last year?

  • After my leg clot scare in February 2014, I did a lot better about keeping my riding up in the winter,
  • I rode a bit more to work, which was much easier mentally once I upgraded the brakes on my commuting bike,
  • I have been riding a fair bit on the trainer this winter, thanks to joining Zwift, which really adds something to the indoor riding.

Look at my monthly graph for the year:

November was nice, and I had some commutes, but the difference between Dec-April and Nov-Dec in this graph is Zwift.

I also didn’t have a let up in the summer this year. Part of that was thanks to taking part in the Tour de Victoria as part of my summer vacation. I would say that that was the highlight of my cycling year, but others were:

It was a great year, and with the “Ambassador” position with Bow Cycle next year, I expect nothing but more and better things for 2016.

Ride on. 🚴🏻

(and I’ll hack into this post to add my monthly riding chart – pathetic by comparison.  😀 – Tammy)

  1. I wouldn’t call it pathetic, Tammy. If you had tracked your November and December indoor rides, you probably would have exceeded my 2012 total, of which I was justifiably proud at the time.

I think you did really well riding regularly through the summer. Now you need to plan your 2016 riding…

Since you asked me already, I’ll post here that my goal for 2016 is 6,000 km. I think I can make that, if my winter Zwifting keeps up and I moderately increase my commuting rate.
