A Blizzard and a Sale

On Thursday at noon, it was 10 degrees in Calgary. By 4 pm it was snowing heavily. I looked a sight coming in from taking the train home. The snow continued lightly on Friday and then really dumped again today. All the while, hovering around -10 to -17. Talk about March coming in like a lion!

Okay, so it’s not like the 80 cm they get in Halifax, but it was a lot!

And then we got some action on selling Dad’s condo. The realtor (Roy Banner) had gotten Stephanie to drop the price a little (to $509,000) and we got a lowball offer at $480,000. There were a couple of competing unofficial offers that were on the side, and the realtor worked that into a $500,000 firm offer. Stephanie’s dealing with the electronic paperwork this evening, all the while suffering from COVID.

The conditions are the usual paperwork for a strata, and an inspection by the 13th. Shouldn’t be a big deal. Close date on April 2 and possession on April 3. Nice and close, don’t have to wait long. And since everything is already out of the place, there’s no worrying about the date.

That’s a big load off of Stephanie.
