A Trip to Sooke and Lunch

Today, we split up. Tammy wanted to go and see the changes that have happened in Sooke since we left, while at the same time Dad had a doctor’s appointment across from Hillside Mall and Miranda wanted to go to Bolen Books.

Tammy and I headed to Sooke. The changes to Highway 14 are under construction, but they look like they will eliminate the worst of the curves around the 17 Mile Pub and Gillespie Road intersection. The changes to Sooke were good: new businesses and what appears to be a thriving core to the village. Lots of traffic even mid-day, mid-week.

We cruised along Amethyst Way. I must say, the current owner is really doing a job at improving the yard.

Not all was sunshine and daisies on the street, though. Check out the house two up…

I mean, how does this even happen?

Then we tried to find a place for lunch. We stopped by Ma Miller’s but it was permanently closed. We finally struck gold at the Four Mile Pub in View Royal. We got a nice table on the patio.

Then we headed to Costco to pick up some stuff before BBQ at Stephanie’s tonight.
