And now… the rest of the weekend

We started well with skiing on Thursday and Miranda having a sleepover Thursday night, but the rest of the weekend ended up quieter than planned. This was mostly due to an intestinal bug that seemed to dwell the longest in Ian’s innards, but made brief stops with myself and Tammy. Nothing dampens the excitement of going out than the threat that your kid might soil themselves with little or no notice. πŸ™‚

We did manage to get out for a bit of shopping, and we did spend a lot of time together over the weekend. Fittingly, we played a game of PooΒ on Saturday. (We embrace irony in our family!) We also had another family piano recital (we’re aiming for weekly recitals) and Tammy did some baking. She whipped up some chocolate peppermint doughnuts and some white chocolate covered cheesecake balls.

I also got a few things done around the house: the weather was nice so I took down the Christmas lights, and Tammy and I cleaned out the humidifier from the furnace.

Ian is now fixated on the Audi R8. He has a die-cast one, and they appear in the Iron Man movies, and he loves racing it in Forza Motorsports 3 on the Xbox. We had about a gazillion questions from him about what kind of job he should get when he grows up so that he can afford to buy one.

Beats me, kid. I still haven’t got my Porsche 911 yet.
