Christmas Visiting

This afternoon, Mom and Dad stopped by for tea. They don’t get out here that often; we visit more frequently at their house. As a result, they hadn’t seen the paint in Miranda’s room yet, let alone the Christmas lights and decorations. Tammy decided at the last minute to make a raisin-cranberry spice cake with candied fruit on top to go with our tea, and it was delicious. Like fruitcake, but much quicker. 🙂

Unfortunately for the visit, Ian had been acting up prior to their arrival, and capped it off by locking himself in our bedroom and snarfing down two candy canes. By the time Mom and Dad left, he was in full meltdown mode, which ended up with our bedroom door locked with the key on the inside (Ryobi to the rescue!) and Tammy melting down as well. That’s life, I guess. Ian then went down for a nap, and he was perfectly fine for our visit later in the evening with Chris, Lorri and Braiden.

They came over at 5:30 and Tammy had prepared a supper of appetizers (largely from M and M Meatshops) and she had experimentally made mulled wine. We had a nice visit, although frequently interrupted by the exuberance of having a six-, three- and two-year-old playing.

  1. You guys need to get the lockable door handles that you simply push in and twist. It is easy to open from the other side by sliding a small thin something-or-other into the little hole.

  2. ‘Couldn’t find the right small thin something to do the trick. We all know how to do it now!
We had a nice time and the cake was delicious Tammy, thank-you. Merry Christmas to all! Love, Mom & Dad
