Last night, Ian, Tammy and I made the trek to southeast Calgary to have dinner with Steven’s family. It had been a long time since we had done it (six years ago!) and we have finally made it to the point in the pandemic where it seemed like a good idea. Miranda was working so we were only three. Ian was excited to have schnitzel for the first time in too long. He played video games with Steven’s daughters before dinner and visited afterwards. They were shocked at how much Ian had grown since they’d seen him last.
I finally got to see their finished basement, but that really was old news by now. We had a great visit. We got to try their homemade red wine, and I brought over a bottle of my cider. Tammy made a trifle with strawberries and after dinner we played a few rounds of the game What do you meme?
Fun fact: the Wiener Schnitzel Haus next to Abbey’s Creations (where Miranda works) is where Steven took Krisztina to meet his dad many years ago.
