End of the MCU Rewatch

This summer, Ian was waiting for Avengers: End Game to come to home video so we could see it again. I had an idea: we would watch all of the MCU movies in order from start to finish and when we got to End Game, it would be out. That’s 22 movies in all (and Spider-man: Far From Home is out now, too, so there’s one more to watch) and it took longer than I thought.

Tonight, we finished it with the family sitting down and watching End Gameย over dinner. I want to put my thoughts down, but there are just so many movies. I should have done them one by one. I guess I will settle for now with saying that they started a little rough, but Marvel got some key things right early and that gave them momentum. Iron Man and Captain America could not have gone better, while the Incredible Hulk is pretty bad. I happen to like Thor, but I’m in the minority. Then managing to tie it together into The Avengers was the stroke that led to the rest of the movies being what they are. The achievement is impressive, which is obvious after re-watching them. The only thing close is James Bond, and the quality there is all over the map.
