Esri Christmas Party 2023

The Christmas Party this year was on November 30th (last day of Nanowrimo!) at the Trolley 5 Restaurant and Brewery on 17th Ave. With all of the goings-on with Dad and Nano and the cycling club (Zwift rides) I was really looking forward to the evening.

Thanks to her getting her driver’s license, Miranda was our chauffeur of the night. She drove us down to the venue and picked us up at the end. On the way home she picked up Edo for dinner for herself and Ian.

The place was great, with more than enough space for everyone. We were really packed into a small space last year, and this was much better. We got there in time for some veggies/cheese/sliced meats and a drink or two before dinner. They had a chocolate porter that was a real winner. I had too many of them, but they went down amazingly well.

Dinner was a salad followed by smoked turkey with potatoes and carrots, and there was a mini-donut type dessert tray afterwards.

All of it was delicious. The dressing on the salad was really good, and the smoky flavour on the turkey was unusual and quite good. We sat with Steven and Krisztina (as usual!) and Mary and John and Michelle. We had a great time although I’m feeling a bit rough this morning thanks to too many beers.
