Haddock, Tintin, and the witch headed out at around 6.20 this evening. It was still pretty light out and not many people were making the rounds, but the kids couldn’t wait forever. I handed out candy this time around.

Well we shut things down around 8.50 this evening. Our first trick-or-treater was at 6.15 and since then we had a grand total of 57. That’s way down from last year. I’m not sure why especially since the weather was fairly pleasant this evening and the street was nicely lit. Here’s the breakdown since moving to Calgary:

  • 2013 – 61
  • 2014 – 78
  • 2015 – 57

The kids got bagfuls of loot again this year. (Miranda even lost a tooth in some taffy!) It seems chips and salty snacks were the favs for handing out this time.

We have some candy left, but not great gobs of it (it’s so difficult so judge how much you’ll need). I could’ve used a few more teenagers ringing the bell so I could offload it onto them, but there weren’t many this year.

Happy Halloween to all.

NaNoWriMo starts tomorrow! (And we’re staying up late for a midnight kickoff. We’ve never been able to do that before because November 1st has always been a work day.)

  1. Costumes were super!!! Looks like and awful lot of loot for the kids. Been in and out of rain here. Dropped over to Stephanie about 5, still setting up. Not as much as last year, to wet Dad

  2. Well, our elderliness showed through at 11.50 last night. 😀 We had decided to lay down for a power nap before the kickoff, but we couldn’t bring ourselves to fall out of bed when the alarm went off and start writing at midnight.

  3. Interesting selfie Tammy! I like your costume. How did the kiss make=up go at work?? Did the students dress up too?? JL

  4. Actually the Kiss make-up was a hit! I’m not sure if it promoted costume wearing the next day, but it was a lot of fun to do. Maybe next year (if we’re still all there) we may get the 4 of us to do it.
