I Wanted To Post More Often

One of the things that I noticed when I did the retrospective for last year was that almost all of the posts were “significant”. There really weren’t a lot of posts that were just everyday happenings around here. I thought to myself that I should put some more “everyday life” posts up, and now I look and there were no posts in the last two weeks of January.

The return to normalcy after everyone being sick was a nice change. The weather’s gotten warm but not warm enough to melt all the snow, apparently. The roads and sidewalks are slippery when they’re not slushy. I’m back on the bike (virtually) and trying to make up for the time lost with COVID. Ian’s back to school after exams and going to the YMCA gym a few times with Joey. We’ll see if that lasts beyond the first few days of classes. Miranda had some dates with a nice UofC student named Paul, but that seems to have come to an end. I didn’t really want to blab too much about that, but it deserves a place here.

The check engine light came on in the Tiguan again. It did it briefly and was cleared when we got the tires, but it persisted and so we had to take the car in for service. Was $1300 and change for what was probably a $0.50 valve that was sticking. I dropped it off in the morning on Monday and it was done in the afternoon.

I think Depeche Mode is commenting on the situation

The fur babies are fitting in very well. Mr. Murphy and Liz still have an antagonistic relationship, but it seldom turns into fur flying anymore. Pip is growing, and is about the same size as Liz now. Pip continues to be a poop disturber with Mr. Murphy, but never more than that. A week or two ago, I got fed up with the cats using the (overwhelmed) normal cat litter box when the nice automatic one was available. I put the automatic one upstairs and the basic one downstairs and now we’ve gotten in the habit of closing the door to downstairs. It took about a day, but now everyone is using the automatic box, which is better for everyone.

A tree full of babies!

Work was really busy this week, with meetings, workshops, training and things. It’s overdue: the first three weeks of the year were quiet. I’m ready for the weekend, but it’s only Thursday. 😫
