Last Day at INFORM

It’s been a real haul over the last week, as I’ve been working overtime to help move some projects towards completion, but the last day is finally here. I don’t plan on working overtime today: I’ve finished up the tasks I’ve committed to, and will be doing a bit extra this morning and making sure that Mark is up to speed for handling my departure.

Lunch is with the guys today, and dinner is the much-belated Miranda’s birthday party with Colin and Carol, who were sick after Christmas.

Update

Well, it’s now the evening, and the day is over. It was busy, but nothing overwhelming. I coded in the morning and then started documenting what I’d done. The Timberline and INFORM gang went to Swan’s for lunch, and Steve paid for mine. I had a beef dip and a Scotch Ale (ahhh… nothing like a pint of 8% brew at lunch). The afternoon was more of the same, until about 3, when I started packing up, doing my last timesheet, filling out my overtime form and penning my goodbye email to everybody. Kelly, Irene and Bill called to wish me well today.

After 4, I bought a round of beer for everyone and then Tammy picked me up. As I wrote in my goodbye email:

“That’s the news, and I am outta here.”

  1. Congratulations my good man, many good wishes with your new endeavor and may you enjoy it as much as you enjoyed your last job.

Sounds like your last day was a lot less tame then my last day at the Ministry of Highways. Let’s just say they had to roll me out to the car and have somebody drive me home. 😛

Enjoy your weekend as a free man; back to the grind Monday and many new challenges ahead of you.
