Miranda’s Driving Test, Office

Yesterday, Miranda passed her driving test!

No more “L” for her!

I don’t know much more than that, because I was riding home from the office at the time. Maybe Miranda or Tammy will fill us in with some details. I know it was at the AMA office in Crowfoot, and they picked up Boston Pizza and some cinnamon buns in celebration afterwards.

Riding from the office, you say?

Yes, the weather improved from our earlier snow and right now it’s about -1 in the mornings and 6 in the afternoon. There’s no more snow and ice, so I actually rode my commuter bike on Wednesday and Thursday (today). Since Monday, I’ve been slowly setting up my new office at work. It’s not much yet, but I’m slowly whipping it into shape. Monday was a rush just moving stuff from my cubicle and emptying all of the shelves, drawers and cupboards of the previous occupants’ stuff enough so that I could work. Then on Tuesday afternoon, Miranda and Tammy drove downtown in the afternoon to drop off the LG Ultrafine monitor at work. I’ve got maps and posters up on the walls to relieve the plain yellow. Overall, it’s working though: I’ve been productive for four days this week. There aren’t a lot of people coming in to the office on a regular basis, but it’s a nice change.

Tomorrow, I will be working from home. Ian and I just got back from Memory Express with a new LG monitor for the bedroom office desk. It’s a 27″ 4k display and it’s working pretty well right now. It’s not as nice as the 24″ Ultrafine and certainly not as nice as the Studio Display Tammy’s using downstairs, but good enough for 1-2 days per week.

  1. Well done Miranda. I can still remember how thrilled I was when I passed my driver test (60 years ago) and was riding my m/c home and skidded on the ice. Must have slid about 20 feet on the road.

  2. Yes! Congrats to you, Miranda. I know you will likely drive the bare minimum, but we’re still so proud you achieved this first try. 🦇 😂
