This year Simon has decided to participate in Movember. He usually doesn’t because he already wears a tache and goatee on a daily basis. This morning he trimmed off most of the beard and was left looking like this:

  1. Have you ever seen Hot Fuzz? Timothy Dalton sports quite the tasche in it…and in the commentary, Edgar Wright, the director, says that "Dalton with Tashe is magic." just wondering if the same will apply to you Simon.:)

Plus, you’re only the second people I’ve heard use the tasche…it’s a sweet word. 🙂

  2. Funny how *removing* hair from my face suddenly makes the remaining hair stand out. Of course, having Tammy take the picture when I hadn’t really settled on the look for Movember doesn’t help. The rule with facial hair is you can take it off, but not put it back on, so in this first cut I left the soul patch and left it extended below the lip on the corners. It’s a bit more "period" than I would like. Put me in western garb, and I think I would ROCK it. 🙂

The kids haven’t even noticed yet.

  3. Miranda finally noticed, after sitting at the table with the whole family for almost all of lunch. "Look Ian. Daddy doesn’t have a beard."
    "Yes, Daddy has a beard."
"No, Ian, he shaved it off."
"No, see?" (Points at moustache) "Moustache," (Points at soul patch) "and beard."

  4. No – however will I recognize you if you come to the door unannounced??? I particularly like your hat in the first picture! I prefer the look before any of the hair came off the face!
Both pictures remind me of different actors. Give me some time and I will remember who.

  5. Tammy finally put it together last night: she thinks I remind her of Peter Bowles. That’s a compliment, by the way.

I think yesterday I passed that threshold, where I no longer look in the mirror and think I look like I’m wearing a fake moustache. 🙂
