New Front Screen Door

Feeding off the success of replacing the sliding screen door to the deck, I’ve now replaced the front screen door as well. The old screen door was getting finicky and difficult to close, and Mr. Murphy had figured out how to push out the bottom and escape. We have a child safety gate that we’ve been putting up to prevent that when the screen door is shut and we’re letting the breeze in.

Originally, I’d thought that I would have to replace the screen door with something that would be disruptive/annoying/in the way, but I found this door kit at Home Depot.

Taking out the old door was harder than putting the new one in. The only wrinkle is that it’s left a gap at the top. I will fix that with a bit of wood stripping or similar, but it’s no big deal.
