Only 11 More Working Days ‘Til Xmas…

It’s a long slog at work right now. It kicked up at the end of October and has continued through November and now December. I’m not really surprised: a lot of clients realized that 2014 year-end was staring them in the face, and have engaged Esri Canada. I have been booked solid, and have a full plate all the way to the end of the 19th, which is my last day.

Today I finished teaching the system architecture course again. It was online, so I was on the headset in the Calgary office for three straight days. It’s a lot of work, but worth it.

This weekend we will put up our Christmas tree. Ian’s beside himself that we haven’t done it already, but the first was Monday, and Tammy and I have both been as dead as doornails in the evenings. We also will be hitting the slopes for the first time on Sunday: the kids and Tammy have lessons lined up for the afternoon. Everybody has their equipment in order, including helmets. Wearing a helmet when snowboarding is something new for me. I never had one before, but apparently it’s commonplace now. That’s what happens when you take a decade off: you don’t have your finger on the pulse… I hope that my now-ancient snowboard is still moderately fashionable! 🙂
