Rockin’ in the rain

And she keeps on coming down. It’s been raining cats and dogs for two solid days now, and it’s starting to have an impact. Our neighbours Chris and Lorri called us this morning looking for some form of flexible hose: the floodwaters were rising on their back step and they’d borrowed a sump pump to try to solve it. They eventually solved it and had a plumber out to snake their perimeter drain, but it was a bit hairy for them this morning. Everything’s alright with our house so far, cross fingers.

When I was out giving them a hand, we started laying some plans for supper. We went over after work today and we all ordered some pizza and after supper played their new Guitar Hero World Tour game for PS3. Unlike the Guitar Hero we have, theirs has two guitars (i.e. 1 guitar, 1 bass), a drum kit and a microphone for singing. It was a hoot. I’d always wanted to try playing one of those drum kits and I had a lot of fun doing it. Tammy did really well, too. She was playing bass, and was scoring as good or better than anyone else all evening. She even gave the lead guitar a try for “Crazy Train” and managed to outdo Chris. It’s all the guitar practice she’s getting while ignoring our kids… 😉 😛

The kids were pretty well behaved, but after 8 Ian started getting cranky and needed a soother. Then when we were leaving, Miranda fell down a few of their front stairs outside. As near as we can tell, her only injury was a slight scrape on the meat of her right hand, but you’d think she’d been shot for all the carrying on. 😀
