Um… hello, cold?

Today we were all feeling well enough for a little outing in the sunshine, if not well enough for swimming and karate lessons. So after lunch (and a morning viewing of Return of the King), we all walked up to the park on Pyrite and the kids played in the playground. We all wore coats and I wore a hat, thinking that it was probably one of those sunny, biting days.

Heck no. It was warm. Miranda and I took our coats off and I was feeling warm just standing around and following Ian around. The weather network says 12 degrees, but I think that’s conservative. There were tons of kids at the playground, including a bunch of teenage boys who’d set up a road hockey game on the basketball court. We even saw a kid using a weed whacker, and I can hear a lawnmower outside as I write this. I think it’s going to be a long mowing season this year.

Update

I don’t believe it. There’s a Japanese plum in the neighbour’s yard, and it’s blosso
ing, and the Burgundy Belle maple at the back of our yard has put out some leaves already.
