Nothing puts a stop to class like this:

table in a heap
table in a heap

Ian’s response: “Oh my gosh!” 😀

Our table has been a bit bendy in spots for ages. Well, after I was leaning across showing Miranda some long subtraction it collapsed under me. Poor Simon. ❤️ He thought a book case had gone over or something. It made one heck of a noise and I can only imagine how it sounded downstairs. Simon said that one of the problems was that we had left the leaf in for so long. Now he is in the process of repairing it since the sliding rails were ripped off completely.

I think we may be forced to get a new table in the future if this fix doesn’t work well.

  1. The table’s back together, and I think it’s actually in pretty good shape. The rails to let the leaf in were only screwed in with 3/4" screws, and into particle board at that.

The rails are re-done and with any luck will hold for a while now. I was just relieved that no one was hurt. The booming and crashing shook the house, and I could hear exclamations from you and Miranda, which fit in perfectly with my imagined situation that Ian had pulled a bookcase down on himself.
