Waiting for Spring

I know there’s been nothing posted since last Saturday, but that’s just the way it goes. I’ve been slammed at work. I had some training (“Crucial Conversations”) on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and that just meant that stuff was compressed into Thursday and Friday. Tammy finished up another term at the college on Friday, so she has the next two weeks off. I work this week, and then I’ll be taking a week off, too. Miranda finished her last exam on Saturday morning, so she’s finished her first year of university. Ian started the classroom part of his AMA driver training on Friday evening and was there all day Saturday. Miranda will be taking her classroom training virtually. Their road lessons will be sometime in May or June, I think.

The most fun this week was Mr. Murphy learning to use his cat food dispenser. Last weekend, Tammy changed his dry food and he really liked it. He was being a bit of a handful, attacking his automatic feeder, trying to get the food out. I suggested we get his self-serve feeder. We had tried him with it when we bought it, but he didn’t figure it out. This time, he got it right away.

He just has to bump the white part on top and some food pops out the bottom.

Something else that’s noteworthy is that we had dinner on the deck tonight. It was about 16 degrees and Tammy BBQ’ed some burgers. Everything is still brown, but spring has to be on its way.

  1. Actually, the feeder was a Christmas gift from one of my students from ages ago. We think he just needed some food that actually had a tantalizing smell to get him going (realize there was something inside). He sure loves it now.
