As some of you have already seen on Facebook, Ian and i have been making pies. I was inspired by an episode of Loki and a funny title to an article on Apple News and Ian was inspired by me.

In one of the episodes of Loki, season 2, featured two of the characters sitting in their cafeteria eating slices of key lime pie. It looked really good and I had never made one before. The following day, Ian and I went shopping for some ingredients to make one. Ian also showed interest in making a chocolate pie from his Halo cookbook, but he was lamenting about how he wasn’t very good at baking. I said that you would never get better unless you tried, so he decided to make a pie at the same time as I did.

The kitchen was awash of dirty, oily, chocolate-covered dishes, but the pies came out beautifully.

Update

I have now decided that this will be my season of pies. My Christmas baking will be dominated by different pies and the Gift of the Magi Bread. I forgot to take a pic of my rum and raisin one, but I’ve added the eggnog pie (in a bit of a sorry state now) and the coconut cream.

More pies to come. Stay tuned.

The key lime was light and refreshing compared to the dense, fudgy chocolate cream one.

My next pies will be rum and raisin and coconut cream.
