Offer has been signed: our house on Amethyst Way is now on its way to being officially sold. The date for the subject-tos being removed is Monday the 18th, so I guess we can expect a call from a house inspector any time. The conditions on the sale are pretty vanilla. Nothing like pending another house sale or anything.

So I called Brian this afternoon (while there was yet another showing at our house!) and discussed it: let him know the news, that I probably wouldn’t be able to make it to the conference in Palm Springs on the 25th to 28th, and inquired as to how to tap into the funds Esri Canada is providing for the move.

As for the first part, I had already been keeping him in the know, but the fact that things were signed was news. The second part: he had already started the process of getting Mark to go in my place. I spent some time this afternoon changing over my travel plans to Mark, which actually didn’t go too badly. The third also was positive, as Brian had started the conversation with Jim, and as soon as the deal is final and I have the realtor fees, moving estimate, and other closing fees in hand, I will be able to send them to Toronto and get essentially an advance to cover the move. Sweeeeet. 😎

Now we’re under the gun to find a place to live in Calgary. There will be almost two months between the date the conditions are off and the closing date (May 17). Anticipating flying to Calgary with Tammy on the 21st or 22nd. Jeff and Sasha have already offered to look after Ian and Miranda during that time. Tammy and I did some Internet-looking last night, and there are about 10 houses we want to take a look at in the area we like. Tammy was a bit worried about only having 2 months, but that’s the game we played: get our house sold before putting out offers.

$360,000. Not as much as we wanted, but it looks like we will be able to buy in Calgary for that plus or minus.
