Our First Stampeders Game

Today, Tammy had to leave just after 6:30 to be downtown to observe an IELTS exam. The kids and I entertained ourselves until it was time for Ian’s piano lesson at noon. I showed Miranda how to play Magic: The Gathering. After piano, we went shopping at Superstore, and when we got back to the car I had a text waiting:

Hey Simon… Matt calling… just seeing if you’re around for stamps tickets we have to give away… first come first serve.

A few texts back and forth, and soon I had my hands on tickets for seats 29 and 30 in row 26, section S at McMahon Stadium. I texted Tammy to let her know. We debated whether or not to take the kids. We could have gotten two more tickets in the nosebleed section, but the weather here was grey and cold all day. Miranda was more that happy to babysit (cha-ching!) so Tammy and I made a date of it.

We bundled up warm. The seats were great.

We were warm for a while, but it got colder. We made it until near the end.

Glad we didn’t take the kids. They would have been frozen. I think we’ll wait to take them for an early-season game when the weather is hot.
