First Coat of DeckOver

I can’t believe it’s taken this long, but the deck is officially that much closer to being finished. For the record, we sanded the deck on June 11th. That’s over two and a half months that we have been waiting for a weather forecast that was dry for more than 36 hours.

I started this morning with the edges:

Then I followed that up with filling cracks. I included all cracks bigger than hairline, and the most noticeable knots. This DeckOver stuff is weird: it has the consistency of smooth peanut butter.

Then I had to wait for a bit before putting the first coat on with the roller. As you can see in the picture, I should have also run the brush along the seams between the boards. The roller only got the very tops of the deck boards, so my first job tomorrow will be to fill in the seams, then use the roller to put the second coat on.
