Buildingspotting

When Tammy asked Ian what he wanted to do on his Spring Break, Ian’s answer was that he wanted to go downtown and look at all of the tall buildings. 🙄

We weren’t sure when we were going to do it, but it turned out that today was nice but chilly and got sunny later in the day. So we headed downtown at 4:00 ish and parked just north of downtown and went on a walking tour of downtown.

We let Ian use an old iPhone to document his trip.

One of the key reasons he wanted to do this was the new Brookfield Place which is being constructed right now. It is the one in the photo above with the cranes on it. When complete, it will be the new tallest building in Calgary, which Ian finds very exciting. We started with the Suncor Towers (East and West), then went to the Bow, saw the excavation for the to-be Telus Sky, Bankers Hall, and Eighth Avenue Place. Here are a few photos of our jaunt.
