Today, I commuted to work on my bike for the first time since the crash. Yes, on Saturday night I rode the route with Ian (there and back), but mentally that was different. For one, even taking it easy like I did this morning is faster than riding with an eight year old. The other was it was on my commuting bike. I did notice that my hand was not as comfortable on the flat bar as on the hoods of a drop bar, and I also noticed that the aluminum fork transmitted the road jolts much more strongly than the designed-to-absorb-everything front end of my Roubaix.
But in the end I made it, safe and sound. Feels good; got a monkey off my back.
Keep an eye out for the monkey, he can be anywhere at any time!!!!!
That darn monkey. π
Need to distract him with πππ.
πglad to hear you are back in the saddleπ
