Christmas Tree Up

Sorry about there not being many postings these days. It seems that everybody’s run ragged right now. With any luck that will ease off now as we’re rolling downhill into the Christmas holidays.

I got back to Victoria Friday night after a very… interesting… trip home. It would have all been fine, except that Calgary was experiencing a blizzard when I was hoping to pass through it. It was snowing with about 60 km/h winds out of the north, so the landing was one of the most exciting I’d ever experienced. After that, it certainly didn’t let up, and it got dark as well. I had a three hour layover (expected), but I spent it with one ear open, listening for some indication that my flight out would be cancelled. In the end, it wasn’t. It was significantly delayed, though. We boarded late and then had to wait for de-icing. We got to Victoria just before 9 pm, instead of the expected 7:20. I’d called Tammy to let her know, but it was still a bit of a wait at the airport for her and the kids.

Yesterday was “full”. Started with swimming lessons for the kids. When we got home, I couldn’t stand it any more and set out to wash the car. I had my bucket of water and everything ready, when I realized that my hoses were frozen. I managed to defrost my shorter one in the laundry tub and barely got the car clean before it was time to take Miranda to karate.

When we got home, I did a few little things and then waited for Ian to wake up. When he did, we put up the Christmas tree. It took a little while, thanks to all the little hands that wanted to help.

Afterwards, Ian and I were tired, so we stretched out for a little reading together.

Last night the wind blew in and it’s still howling. Hey Evan, how are your Christmas lights doing???

  1. The tree looks great! Guess the livingroom is rearranged again. It makes life interesting. Welcome back.

  2. Hey sorry for the late post. No fatalities here. If it’s one thing I’ve learned is that you have to build props for wind resistance around these parts now!!!
