There are only a few days left in Victoria, but today was the first experimental bicycle commute from Mom and Dad’s house in Colwood to the Victoria office. All along, I have asserted that the distance from our Calgary house needed to be within cycling distance, and when we chose our house that 20 km was within range. Not only within range, but that I would be able to arrive not-spent and able to work, and be able to make it back home.
So, this morning’s ride from Colwood confirms that. It’s a 17.3 km ride, with more up-and-down elevation change. I’ve arrived without being too winded or sweaty, and I’m looking forward to the ride home.
