On my week off, besides typing like a madman on my novel, I also took the time to try using Dad’s router for the first time. I made a riser for my monitor at work, but integrated a 4-port USB hub into it:
I didn’t take a picture of the underside, but I routed out a cavity and mounted the USB hub underneath. Two of the ports are sticking through the top for easy access, and two are hiding in the cavity. There is a hole out the back for passing the cables in. The USB hub was a standalone one that I deconstructed for mounting in the riser.
I’d say it was a pretty successful first try.
It takes a while to get familiar with a router. Mounting it on a table gives you more control because you are now moving the wood and not the router. Dad
