First Trip to Nakiska for This Winter

It’s a little later than last year, but we headed out to Kananaskis Country for the first time today. We got pelted by snow a while ago, but it has been warm and dry since, so only some of the runs were open. The closures include the Bronze chairlift, which is the one for beginners. But Tammy wanted to get there soon, because although we had a season rental of skis and boots for Ian, she was certain they would run out or something.

So we headed out with all our stuff, and we would see how the snow was when we got there. As it happened, it wasn’t that bad. It was a nice sunny day, just a couple degrees below freezing.

The kids and I did one run on the bunny slopes before heading up the Silver chairlift.

We ended up doing just one run. Tammy did about seven runs down the bunny slope. Everything went pretty well. It would have been nice to have the Bronze chair open, but that will happen eventually.
