Happy New Year! That means yet another click on the odometer for our little New Year’s girl. 🙂
This year, she managed to stay up to midnight with Tammy and I for the first time. It was a quiet affair, with Ian heading off to bed at nine. Then we read for a while (you know your Dad’s a geek when it’s the Order of the Stick) and watched some Mr. Bean on PBS.
This morning was presents at breakfast, followed by calls with both sets of grandparents, Colin and Carol by Skype. Presents included a couple of sets of books (Percy Jackson, a guide to collecting beach glass from Colin and Carol and a set called the Goddess Girls from Ian), as well as a Barbie carry case and three new Barbies from Nana and Grandpa, a diary, and a brand new iPod Touch.
Then we found out that everyone was well enough to come out our way (yay antibodies!) so Stephanie, Zachary, Brianna and Mom and Dad made it. That turned dinner into a double birthday party (Bilbo and Frodo? No, Stephanie and Miranda!) and Mom and Dad picked up the Chinese food. Was delicious and entirely too much. Oof. Must… loosen… belt.
Birthday cake was double chocolate with raspberry jam inside and gummy worms and spiders on the outside.
