Yay!  Welcome!

Dad and Carol set off from Pender on Wednesday morning on their first trek here. The stopped in Golden overnight before making the remainder of the journey yesterday. They arrived around quarter past 1. Both Simon and I were at work and the kids were at camp, so we didn’t get to see them until around 5 when I arrived back home. They’ll be here until next Tuesday.  We have no real plans set in stone.  I took today off work because I’m actually feeling off.  I think my bike ride in the downpour yesterday disagreed with me.
The weather is crappy. This has been the week of rain and cooler temps.  Next week it’s supposed to be back to the heat wave. I had to ride my bike in the rain yesterday. It wasn’t  because I’m such a born again health nut, but because the C-Train was having electrical issues and stopped running.  If I was ever going to make it to work I had to ride.  It turns out this was one of the issues:

C-Train issues

It made yesterday morning at work a gong show: 4 classes and 2 teachers until I got there.  By 10.15 the trains were back working, but it was too late.  The cold and wet were taking their toll.  Even the hot coffee Kyoko bought for me wasn’t enough.  I just hope it doesn’t get worse – I don’t want to pass it onto our visitors.

  1. It’s one of the metal arms from on top of the C-Trains. It got damaged somehow.
