Trim done, Ian lost a tooth, and Internet was out

I’m back from Toronto, and that meant we were off to the races in the bathroom. Yesterday was picking up the moulding for the bathroom and priming it and painting it. We sealed the grout and tiles, and we also went to Ikea and picked up the vanity, sink and medicine cabinet.

Today was the big day: installing the trim. While this whole endeavour has had lots of steps where I felt stressed out about being able to do the work well, the trim had a special place of honour. This whole bathroom reno started because of the awful over painting patch job around the ceiling. If this didn’t work, the whole thing would be bittersweet.

By lunch, the trim was cut and installed (thanks in no small part to buying this Ryobi nail gun). After lunch was caulking and constructing the Ikea stuff. Then after dinner was paint. Until the paint was done and the tape pulled off, I was holding my breath. Then the final was revealed and I could have jumped for joy.

The remaining jobs don’t seem too insurmountable.

And in case it sounds like I’m taking all the credit here, Tammy has been there every step of the way checking my measurements, grouting, painting and general morale boosting. 🙂

And then there was Ian’s lost tooth, right before bed tonight:

All of that meant that we didn’t really miss out with our cable being out all day today. Shaw had a major brain fart. We only got the Internet back about 45 minutes ago.
