A Dinner at Swiss Chalet to End a Week of Overtime

This week and for future weeks (probably until March), I will work extra time. There are a couple of reasons for this, but the upshot is I need to put in a few extra days. I asked Tammy for her opinion, and she indicated that she’d rather have me work longer days than to work extra days on the weekend. So Monday through Thursday I’m getting up an hour early and catching the 5:40am bus, and staying an extra half hour at work and catching the 5:30 bus home. It works out to a 10 hour day, which puts me up to 48 hours in a week.

It was an interesting experiment: I actually enjoyed shorter bus rides because I avoided the worst of rush hour. I also was more productive on the whole, getting to start an hour before the phones start ringing and other people show up. It was tiring, too: so I have been going to bed at 9. Last night I continued that trend, and slept in until almost 8 this morning, so I’m feeling pretty good today!

Thursday was a bit of a downer. As I was packing up my computer to head home, I looked out the window and saw the #61 bus. I checked my watch, but it wasn’t even supposed to have left the depot for another four minutes. So I figured the 5:15 was running late. So I hoofed it to the bus stop. To make a long story short: that was my bus, and it was early. So I had to wait another 45 minutes for the next bus. Then when I got home, Miranda was already in bed and asleep. 😢

So today, Tammy and Miranda met me at Swiss Chalet (we’d got a gift card from our mortgage broker as a thank-you for return business) and we had a nice dinner, and then wandered over to Mayfair Mall afterwards. That was much nicer.

  1. Thank you for some other informative blog. Where else could I get that type of info written in such a perfect manner? I have a venture that I am just now running on, and I have been on the glance out for such information.
