Congratulations, Tammy! (and Cindy, too!)

Tonight, Tammy crossed the 50,000 word mark in NaNoWriMo. Myself, I’m poised to do so pretty easily tomorrow, but I’m not going to press on tonight. This is the first year that she has crossed the line before I did, so good for you, dear! She has already told me that she’s not near the end of the story, so the word count will continue to build, I’m sure.

I’d also like to shout out to my friend Cindy, who came and visited us this past summer, and who also crossed the 50k mark tonight. She’s always been a creative sort, and a writer, and Tammy and I talked her into giving NaNo a try this year. She’s been getting support from her husband Sean, and she’s found success on her very first try.

I might have been able to cross the line tonight, but I didn’t write a single word last night while I was away in Vancouver for business. That marked the second night this November that I didn’t write anything. That’s more a mark of how many other things are going on this year than in years past.

Update November 27

And now, I’ve crossed the finish line, too. Three pages on the Smith-Corona while Tammy drove to the dojo this morning, and another four on the Underwood tonight puts me almost to 52,000. Now, to finish the story… probably a minimum of 40,000 more words.

  1. 🙂 Thanks for the virtual high fives! I’m really happy you guys talked me into doing this. It’s been very rewarding!

    Congratulations to you both!
