I’m referring to the weather of course. I can’t believe how crap-tacular it has been. Here we are on June 2nd and it’s wet, dreary, and chilly. I’m beginning to think we have 2 seasons in BC: Winter and Summer. Our Fall, Winter, and Spring sure melded into one this year and it’s beginning to look like our Summer will follow suit.

The worst of it is the lack of outside time for the kids, Ian especially. Cabin fever and stir crazy run amok here. He’s a very active boy and I can’t keep his attention for more than 5-10 minutes with games, books, TV, etc. He wants to be on the move; he can walk/run around the back yard until the cows come home. For the last week I’ve been throwing them out for 1/2 hour run-arounds in between rain storms, but there are some days when I can’t even do that. Miranda’s music teacher had her end of piano summer party yesterday and we were lucky for the most part weather-wise. The kids all got to play outside including Ian. Last week we had issues with Ian waking up at 3.30a. After 3 days in a row of this we surmised it was because he hadn’t been running around outside. The next day was nice enough that they played outside and sure enough he crashed for the whole night. Now we have to try to get him at least a 1/2 hour of outside time if we want to sleep through the night. 🙂

Summer we’re waiting!
