Guess Who’s Nine Today?

His birthday was on a Thursday this year, so it was a rushed morning to make sure it was a good start. I made some pancakes, and then Ian opened his presents.

The day was spent at his MegaVenture camp, swimming at Shouldice Pool. I worked from home, and decorated his cake at lunchtime. The cake is strawberry, the filling is chocolate and the outer frosting is vanilla. A Neapolitan cake!

We ended the evening with Ian building his Burj Khalifa Lego set. He finished before bedtime.

The whole time as he was building it, it was constant exclamations about: “Look how tall it’s getting!” “It’s taller than Brookfield Place now!” “I can’t believe how tall it is!”   🙂
