NaNoWriMo 2010 Kickoff!

It’s 9:00 am on November 1st, and I’ve got 1,730 words written! (Okay, so I’m actually posting this later on a break from work, but you get the idea)

It’s the third National Novel Writing Month Tammy and I have participated in, and today is the glorious first day. The day when you’ve got all the ideas and that sense of optimism that only reality can quench. I’m sure I’ve still got a leftover Halloween candy buzz to boot. 🙂

Colin and Carol are coming over to visit this evening and stay the night. Initially, I thought they were coming last Monday, but that was a miscommunication. So I took the opportunity to reserve two of my floating personal time off hours for this morning, and from 7:30 to 9:00 I typed four pages and got 1,730 words complete, which is over the 1,667 necessary to be on pace for 50,000 by month end. Now I’ll be able to enjoy their visit without reservation. We haven’t seen them since… um… well, it’s been a while. I’ll bet it was around Ian’s birthday anyways. They’re off on a vacation to Mexico next week. Tammy’s done some baking and is all ready for supper tonight!

Having to stop at 9:00 and then head downstairs to work means that I’m still all itchy to keep typing. Oh well. There’s tomorrow night. 🙂

  1. I still have to write mine. I’m going to dedicate this afternoon to doing some writing. I guess it’s Max and Ruby or Charlie Brown to the rescue. 🙂 Miranda is in the process of writing hers.
(Actually, they’re not off to Mexico until later this month.) But this was one of the few days that seemed to work for them to visit. Plus they’ve offered to take M to school tomorrow so I don’t have to kick around for 3 hours trying to entertain Ian. 🙂 Thank you. (L)
