I’d say my mood has been sort of disgruntled. Not because of anything I can control: it’s the cold that Ian and Tammy have had. Ian struggled through the last week of school (masking: such a 2021 throwback!) and Tammy came down with it just as her vacation started. Her cough has been terrible: hacking, and giving her sore core muscles. Then last night, I totally ran out of gas, my nose stuffed up and started running. Oh man, it’s my turn. I crashed and even slept in past 8 o’clock this morning. But as the day went on I got better instead of worse. I think my immune system may have fought it off.

We were supposed to have Steven and Krisztina and family over tonight for a dinner party, but as of this morning, Tammy and Ian were still coughing and blowing, and I was succumbing (or so I thought) so we postponed it for a week. That’s why I’m disgruntled: I was looking forward to the visit.

I was also a bit grumbly because the last few days of the Advent of Code really kicked my butt. I just finished day 25 this evening, two days late. I enjoy the challenge, but when the puzzles get into the esoteric math or graph theory areas, then I’m out of my league. I’m learning things, though.

Tomorrow, Mr. Murphy has an appointment at the vet, and we’ll ask about Lizzy’s seemingly perpetual hunger. Miranda has a potluck party with her friends on Friday night.

And then I came down with the cold. One day (Friday) of absolute hell where I wanted to run away from my sinuses. Today was much better and I managed to do the Four Horsemen Zwift ride, against Tammy’s advice.
