I had a couple of hours to rub together this afternoon, and since Tammy’s seemingly happy to work upstairs now, I decided it was time to re-think the basement arrangement.
Let’s face it: as long as the ping pong table is still up, the basement will never be elegant, but it’s much better laid out and less cluttered now.
I am hopeful that the new layout will work. I’m looking forward to mounting the TV. Not sure how much TV watching will go on down there, but it’s an alternative place for Apple Fitness+ at a minimum.
Also, much easier to access the fridge now. We always had to walk around the ping pong table to get to it before. Might be a little too close to the desk, though. Can just reach back, open the fridge and grab a beer… 🥴

The wall mount for the TV arrived today. I figured… if I had that I might as well mount the TV. The new Apple TV 4k we ordered two weeks ago won’t be here for a couple more weeks, but we had a couple of old Apple TV (3rd gen) sitting and waiting to be recycled. I hooked one up and to my amazement it still works.
The key was that back in 2013, Tammy and I took photos of the studs. The fine folks who planned the basement added supports for a TV mount.
