Thunderbolt Display for work

It has been a long time, wishing for one of these. Today is the day: an Apple Thunderbolt Display. I am excited to go to work on Monday. 🙂

It’s the first Apple display I’ve had since they looked like this:

AppleVision 1710 Monitor

There’s no way that Esri would get me one, so I am buying it myself. It’s huge an gorgeous to look at. 27 inches, the same display as on the big iMac.

Today was my first day back from the 2014 Esri Developer Summit in Palm Springs. Being a Friday and having travelled on Sunday to get there, I thought taking the day off was a good use of my time. It turned out to be a pretty productive day. It started early, because the kids had to be bundled off to school. I did a half-hour on the bike, showered and breakfasted. Then Tammy suggested taking down the Christmas lights outside. It’s largely snow-free out there and warm as well. That done, we headed to Ikea, and bought a few things:

  • Shelving for the storage closet in the basement,
  • a small bookshelf for the bedroom, and
  • a torchiere lamp for near the piano.

We stopped by the Apple Store to pick up the monitor on the way home, but the rest of the day was spent building the shelves and arranging art and sewing supplies. I can officially say that my pastels are now out of storage and ready to use. Yay!
