This year, Valentine’s Day was a little lower key. I did some culinary prep, or course. I made some goodie bags for the family which contained a red velvet cookie and some chocolates and candies. I also made a special meal of marinated pork that was slow-cooked and served with a variety of sweet potatoes and mixed veg. I made a pavlova lopped with a raspberry curd, sorbet, raspberries, and chocolate sauce. Miranda made some sparkling wine floats with a moscato and rose petal ice cream (from Abbey’s, of course). We watched Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown over supper.
Miranda made each us tiny cards with hearts in them. She also made a donation to the Meow Foundation from a charity table at the uni. They were selling origami and crochet crafts. She chose the crochet whale with tiny origami shapes.
Simon gave me a marshmallow heart from Purdy’s and pair of gold hoop earrings, which were being worn by the earring bunny. 🐰 ❤️
Later in the evening, we played some song trivia with random songs off of Apple Music.
